Fire Features

A backyard oasis is not complete without a fire feature.  The most popular way of incorporating fire features into a backyard design is adding a fire pit.  A fire pit or a fire hole can vary from a pit dug in the ground to an elaborate gas burning structure of stone, brick, and metal.

If elegance and aesthetics are most important, fire bowls are a great option.  Linear fire pits, with fire burning along a line is another popular use of incorporating fire into your backyard design.    Fire burning insets can also be a part of the pool itself, creating a beautiful interaction of fire and water.

Fire pits come in many shapes and sizes and can  made out of various types of stone.
Fire pit designs can also work hand in hand with your swimming pool and have their own water features, such as fountains and waterfalls.  Fire pits can range from natural earthy appearances of brick, or stone, to slick and modern with glass stones, or lava rocks.  They can be placed around with lava rocks or beads of glass and can be a beautiful way to stay warm when temperatures drop.
