Concrete Pool Builders
Luxury concrete pools for residential and commercial customers
At Aqua Blue Pools, we specialize in custom concrete pools that combine beauty, strength, and limitless design freedom. Concrete pools — also called gunite or shotcrete pools — let Charleston and Bluffton homeowners build virtually any shape, size, or depth, with finishes and features chosen entirely around their home and lifestyle. As the Lowcountry’s only Master Pool Builder, we’ve built our reputation on concrete pools that are as durable as they are elegant.
A concrete pool — also called a gunite or shotcrete pool — is built by spraying steel-reinforced concrete over a custom-shaped framework, then finishing it with plaster, pebble, or tile. Because there are no pre-made molds, a concrete pool can take virtually any shape, size, or depth, which is why it’s the most customizable and durable pool you can build.
Concrete is the gold standard for durability and customization. Unlike fiberglass or vinyl, it isn’t limited to pre-made molds — which means complete creative freedom.
Fiberglass and vinyl pools rely on pre-formed shells or liners, which limits design and tends to need replacement sooner. Concrete is built in place and reinforced with steel, so it offers the most strength, the longest lifespan, and total design freedom — the reasons it’s our exclusive building method and the best fit for the Charleston and Bluffton climate.
We build every pool style in concrete, including luxury pools, infinity pools, inground pools, elevated pools, plunge pools, geometric pools, and freeform pools — each tailored to your property.

A custom concrete (gunite) pool in the Charleston and Bluffton area typically starts in the mid five figures and rises with size, finishes, spas, and water features. Concrete costs more upfront than vinyl but delivers far greater durability and design freedom. A consultation gives you an accurate price.
They’re the same category. “Gunite” and “shotcrete” refer to the method of spraying concrete over a steel-reinforced framework to form the pool shell. We use this method for its strength and design flexibility.
Concrete is built in place and can take any shape, size, or depth, and it stands up to coastal conditions for decades. Fiberglass is limited to pre-made shells and sizes. For a fully custom, long-lasting Charleston or Bluffton pool, concrete is the stronger choice.
A well-built, properly maintained concrete pool can last for decades, with periodic resurfacing of the interior finish over its lifetime. The steel-reinforced structure itself is built to last.
Concrete pools need routine care like any pool, plus periodic resurfacing over the years. Our maintenance plans handle ongoing upkeep so your pool stays pristine.
We offer plaster, pebble, and tile finishes, each with a different look, texture, and price point. We help you choose the finish that fits your design and budget.
